Updated October 4, 2022 - How I Keep My Weight Down On Olanzapine

I put in *wraps not weaps! lol

I also take Omega 3, garlic and Vitamin D daily. I don't eat until noon and then I try to eat my last meal before 6pm and I don't snack at night usually. I also avoid process foods, high fructose corn syrup, aspartame, sucralose, fast food and junk food. I also drink spring water too. I avoid caffeine because it amplifies my PTSD and increases cortisol levels. I also try to avoid carbs, sugar, msg and other unnatural things that are not good for you.

I also eat kimchi, humus, nuts, berries, watermelon and chocolate too.

I do have a treat meal and/or treat snack once a week.  I don't usually have an entire treat day unless it's a holiday or I'm visiting friends or family.

I don't buy junk food or processed food it helps me a lot to avoid temptation otherwise I could end up binge eating all of it!  Ice cream is one that I avoid the most and only get once in a while when we are out having a fun time in the summer because I would eat the entire container in a day or so.

Watching what I eat, eating healthy the majority of the time, intermittent fasting, working out 5x a week and being active works for me and I hope this helps you!

Update: I just want to add that 2 months in I have to take Metamucil before every meal to keep regular and since I only eat 2 meals a day it's not that costly.

Update: Three months in and I am thin and a bit more curvy.  Women pay to have bigger breasts and a bigger butt too and I have both because of Olazapine.  My husband said I have to get more tight fitting clothes to show it off.  lol  All I know is that Olanzapine is helping me sleep and feel less stressed and afraid due to PTSD so that's what matters.  My doctor offered to switch me to Latuda because she said it does not cause weight gain even though it is said to but the side effects look worse to me and so much more expensive so I am sticking to Olanzapine.  I added a core workout and weights on top of my aerobics and I do all that 5x a week.

Update:  I'm removing dates and bananas from my daily diet as well as other sugary and carbie type foods.  Those will be once in a while for a treat.  I am going to go on more of a keto type diet.  I will still be intermittent fasting so I only eat two main meals a day.  I think this will be the final piece of the puzzle on how to stay slim on Olanzapine.  I am also considering joining a gym on top of my 5x a week workout at home.  I hope to go to the gym 3x a week and then still be active outside of all that too.  My husband and I like to go for long walks once or twice a week.  I forgot to mention that Olanzapine is said to spike your blood sugar so that's why I am giving up high sugar things and carbs daily.  It's a small sacrifice so that I can keep taking it because it helps me sleep and lessons my anxiety and fear from PTSD.

Update:  I am only eating 2 eggs a day instead of 3 with one avocado at lunch.  I am using all natural sugar-free Metamusil with stevia.  I also purchased stevia to put in my coffee or oatmeal if I want it a bit sweet instead of brown sugar or honey.  I am determined to lose weight on Olanzapine.

Update:  I learned that Olanzapine spikes your blood sugar so I decided to go keto about 2 weeks ago since then I have lost 2 pounds and the swelling in my feet is gone!!!  Since my meds do help me sleep and ease my ptsd I can stay on them longer as long as I follow the keto diet and continue my healthy lifestyle.
